The incredible shrinking Web

NEWS Internet users in the US are spending more time online - but are visiting fewer sites. Surfers spent 35 per cent of their time on the top 50 sites, up from 27 per cent a year ago, according to a study conducted by MediaMetrix for the LA Times. So although more users than ever are spending more time than ever surfing the Web, they're giving an increasing amount of their attention to the top portals and search engines. The top five sites for US users are Yahoo!, AOL, MSN, Geocities and Netscape.
