NEWS Frozen food chain Iceland, is set to launch a free online shopping service from October 4th this year. Iceland claims to be the only supermarket to offer 'true nationwide home shopping', with 97% coverage of Britain's population. This development builds on the launch of its home delivery service in 1997. Telephone ordering was launched last year, while digital TV shopping is expected to follow the Web launch. As the minimum order is £40, a spokeswoman for the company said they expect the service to be used by the "housebound and cash rich". Additionally, she said Iceland does not anticipate that it will draw business away from its high street stores.
