NEWS HydraWeb Technologies today launched HydraCookie, a technology which allows companies to prioritise Web customers according to status. The technology uses cookies to identify users on an intranet, extranet or the Internet. Customers most likely to spend money can then be routed down a faster connection, or to a different Web interface. Raj Sharma, president and CEO of HydraWeb, told Silicon.com that the technology was developed as a result of a request made by one of its customers, DLJdirect, a US-based online broker. DLJdirect wanted to offer better performance to users actually undertaking trades on the site rather than surfers just looking for information. HydraWeb specialises in load-balancing technology which helps distribute server requests to ensure reliability of ecommerce and Internet services. For more information see http://www.hydraweb.com
