Twentieth Century Fox employs VPN for global link

By Lisa Burroughes, 1 October 1999 18:24

NEWS Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation plans to deploy a virtual private network (VPN) to link 34 offices worldwide. The film and television company said it hopes the VPN will save £375,000 a year - by allowing employees to exchange email and share data files over the Internet - and therefore avoid leased digital or dial-up connections. It will install Novell's Novella BorderManager Enterprise Edition suite as well as Novell's directory services and server platform. The VPN will be connected to UUNet's Internet backbone.
