NEWS The Campaign for Unmetered Telecommunications (CUT) is to meet with DTI minister, Patricia Hewitt, this Wednesday to impress upon her its belief that changing the current telecommunications tariff structure will encourage ecommerce. Erol Ziya, co-founder of CUT, said it is imperative the UK government understands the significance of having an unmetered tariff rather than simply reducing the per-minute cost. Ziya also hopes to convince the government that there is specific action it can take to encourage operators, particularly BT, to change the structure rather than rely on market forces.
