BT to employ 400 more call centre staff

By Felicity Ussher, 17 November 1999 15:54

NEWS BT is recruiting 400 more call-centre staff to gear-up for a new range of products and services. The company has teamed up with Kelly Recruitment to find permanent and part-time staff for its Warrington centre. Lorraine Hammond, head of marketing for Kelly Recruitment, said the centre was currently not operating at full capacity. She said full details of the new services would be announced in the new year. The announcement comes only a week after BT call centre staff voted in favour of strike action, to be taken on Monday 22 November, in protest at draconian working conditions (see 'BT staff poised for strike action' http://www.silicon.com/a33982 ).
