Knight Ridder spends offline to get online hits

NEWS Media giant, Knight Ridder, has picked EURO RSCG/DSW Partners to start a large marketing campaign for its realcities.com network of Web sites. The realcities sites are based around Knight Ridder's regional newspapers but provide other information for both visitors and residents of the cities. Marketing will be mainly be offline (ie. 'real world') such as posters, radio and TV. The campaign will start early in 2000. Dan Finnigan, president of KnightRidder.com, said in a statement "the time is now for KnightRidder.com to lock in its dominant role as the premier provider of local online information and build our brands.
