KPNQwest signs VPN deal with Baan

NEWS KPNQwest has won a contract to supply ERP vendor, Baan, with an IP-based Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN), which will connect Baan offices around the world. The deal is initially worth E1.2m to KPNQwest over three years. Baan will use an IP transit connection of 4Mbps, along with two VPN tunnels of 1Mbps each, between the company's dual headquarters in Barneveld, the Netherlands and Herndon, Virginia, and between Barneveld and other offices in Santa Clara, California. The company said it chose KPNQwest on the basis of cost, speed and flexibility and the company's ability to "deliver massive IP capacity" using its own fibre backbone.
