NEWS Video streaming specialist, RealNetworks, has this week announced its support for the second draft of multimedia Web language, Smil (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) Boston, according to US media reports. The draft, released by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) last week, builds on the widespread adoption of the language. Smil Boston defines a simple XML-based language that allows authors to write interactive multimedia presentations on the Web. The W3C working group on Smil Boston, including representatives from Compaq, Intel, Macromedia and Microsoft - are hoping for feedback on the draft from the developer community.
