NEWS Christmas family favourite, Monopoly, is set to spend the next Millennium online rather than on the carpet. Hasbro, owners of Monopoly, Cluedo (that's Clue to our American readers), has done a deal with Go2Net.com to set up http://www.games.com - a portal site of games. The site is aiming to go live by the middle of next year and will include Hasbro games and games from http://www.playsite.com - Go2Net's current games site. Hasbro also has the rights to Atari games like Missile Command, Frogger and Super Breakout. Hasbro is pledging to spend $60m next year setting up and launching the site. The agreement lasts for three years. Monopoly is also moving onto the PC with the launch of a CDRom version. This allows players to customise the board to reflect their local town or city. It can also be played online with up to six other players anywhere in the world.
