VPN market worth £2.3bn by 2003 predicts IDC

NEWS The virtual private network (VPN) market will be worth $2.3bn by 2003, according to research from IDC. Analysts said this is a natural development from increasing Internet access among business and the continued rise of intranets. IDC predicted the market will rise from a base of $800m in 2001, but cited a perception among users that VPNs lack security and a lack of interoperability between VPN equipment as possible barriers to growth.
