Freeserve rolls out unmetered access schemes

NEWS Freeserve has added to its free Internet services with two packages offering unmetered dial-up access. The UK ISP, which has more than 1.6 million subscribers, will offer unmetered access after 18:00 and before 08:00 on weekdays, and all day at the weekends, for a monthly subscription charge of £6.99. This package will go live in May 2000 and is available to all subscribers using a BT line to connect to the Internet. However, the ISP has also extended its Freeserve Time package to offer unlimited Internet access at anytime if the subscriber spends more than £10 a month on national or international calls through Energis. The company's share price rose 10 per cent to 640p a share on the news.
