NEWS French Internet company Lagardere has finally outlined its plans for its alliances with Deutsche Telecom's ISP, T-Online, and French satellite company, Canal Satellite. Lagadere - which owns 6.5 per cent of T-Online - will use the German ISP to build two portals. The first, Digitall, will consist of a catalogue selling multimedia products, and it is expected to offer WAP access later this year. A spokesman said other WAP channels and programmes are under development with French mobile operators. The second portal, Mcity, will sell music online. Lagadere said it is committed to building an Interactive TV unit to produce and host digital TV services. The company said it is in negotiations with non-French companies to begin broadcasting the interactive services in the next few weeks. As announced in January, Lagadere will continue to develop a joint venture with Canal Satellite to offer services via set top boxes. Canal Satellite is expected to launch a range of set top boxes at the end of 2000.
