BBC ponders post-production Granada marriage

By Tony Hallett, 5 April 2000 15:44

NEWS The BBC has confirmed it is in talks with programme-maker and regional broadcaster Granada about a future tie-up. Systems relating to outside broadcasts, graphics and general post-production may be merged. However, a BBC spokeswoman stressed details of any particular co-operation are "too far down the road", but said the companies are looking at ways of developing their production facilities. Manchester-based Granada employs about 350 technicians, while BBC Resources in the city has about 150 staff in similar roles.
