Staples grabs nine partners to globalise e-retail site

NEWS Office supplies retailer Staples is expanding the reach of its StaplesLink.com site for contract customers worldwide with the signing of nine ecommerce partners this week. The deal with e-marketplaces and business-to-business (B2B) procurement suppliers including Commerce One, Oracle and Netscape will enable customers to order and buy office supplies online. Anne-Marie Keane, VP of B2B ecommerce for Staples.com, said in a statement: "Office supplies are one of the first categories companies consider when looking for ways to streamline purchasing. We're made StaplesLink.com a simple and cost-effective way to purchase office supplies online."
