NEWS Dow Jones has signed up RateXchange to supply three indexes of US bandwidth trading prices. The weekly price indexes will cover transpacific, transatlantic and East-to-West coast telecommunications networks. They will be distributed via Dow Jones' real-time news wires. The move clearly splits the bandwidth trading market between RateXchange, a subsidiary of NetAmerica, and the UK pioneer, Band-X. Marcus de Ferranti, co-founder of Band-X, said: "Band-X telecom indices have been published on Bloomberg since 1997."
