NEWS Online retail revenues in the US will increase by 85 per cent over the next year, according to a report out this week. The report was produced by research company Boston Consulting Group using data extracted from 412 online businesses including start-ups and Web divisions of established companies. The report - released at the tail-end of the tech stock turbulence that has gripped global markets - put the value of online retail revenue generated over 1999 at $33.1bn. It forecast that figure will increase to $61bn during 2000. Patrick Forth, vice president of Boston Consulting, said the stock market turmoil won't effect the continuing strong growth of online commerce.
