NEWS Leaders of the world's top Internet companies issued a rallying call to peers in the industry calling for more care to be taken with consumers private data. The CEOs and founders of companies such as Amazon.com, eBay, Inktomi and Lycos are members of the NetCoalition body set up in response to growing concern about the use of personal data over the Web. In a joint letter, NetCoalition said: "We must - as industry leaders - take the initiative in ensuring that Internet companies establish and promote the adoption and implementation of rigorous voluntary privacy policies."
