boo.com to rise from the grave

NEWS Internet investment fund Brightstation has come to the rescue of boo.com and NetImperative. According to weekend press reports, Brightstation has bought the technology back-end of boo.com for £250,000, while an announcement on buyers for the branding and Web site is expected from KPMG later today. Brightstation, led by Dan Wagner, was formed last year from the remnants of Dialog. New media news service NetImperative has also been rescued by a consortium headed up by Wagner. A report in Sunday Business claims the group has raised £1m to keep the company going and retain all 37 employees. The consortium is also said to include Internet Business Group and StockHouse Media Corporation. An official announcement on both deals is due later today.
