Carrefour and BNP launch financial services online

NEWS French hypermarket and supermarket operator Carrefour, has signed a deal with Parisian-based bank, BNP to provide online financial services. The bank will offer content for the soon-to-be launched internet access
portal. Carrefour called for tenders to provide financial services to the internet access and specialist portals. BNP recently announced it was to spend E700m (£442m) on its internet strategy over the next three years. The bank currently boasts three internet ventures, its online brokerage e-cortal, virtual banking unit Banque Directe and online banking services arm BNP Net.
