NEWS Compaq Computers and internet venture capital firm CMGI are joining forces in a $20m business-to-employee venture that will deliver web-based solutions to IT professionals. The new internet company, Freeup, will provide information, tools and services to help employees in the technology sector simplify work processes and increase productivity. Compaq will own the controlling interest in Freeup with CMGI holding the remaining stake.
