NEWS ISP chello, a unit of Dutch cable operator UPC, is to merge with Excite@Home, creating what the companies call the largest broadband company outside the US. Further details about the new company - to be called Excite Chello - will be given during a press conference later this afternoon. Roger Lynch, CEO of chello broadband, will serve as president and CEO of Excite Chello. Excite@Home backer AT&T Liberty Media will make an investment of E200m (£125m) in the venture.
