Marks & Sparks gets techie

NEWS Troubled retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) has made two non-executive appointments to strengthen its board of directors. Tony Ball, currently chief executive and managing director of BSkyB, and Kevin Lomax, chairman of UK software and services company Misys, will both become non-executive directors of the high-street retailer. A spokesman for M&S said: "We are keen to have greater diversity and a wider spectrum of experience on the board." He stressed that the positions are advisory only.
