NEWS Online business-to-consumer (B2C) health portal, Clickmango.com, is due to fold just three months after opening. Backed by TV star Joanna Lumley and founded by Toby Rowland, son of publishing baron Tiny Rowland the website raised funding in record time at its inception last September. However, the site is now reportedly unable to raise £300,000 to continue its operations into the autumn and is preparing to tail down operations. On Friday it emerged Clickmango.com's prime backer Atlas Venture had refused to continue funding the start-up. CEO Robert Norton was quoted in the Sunday Times as saying the company had decided to wind down responsibly to ensure it was able to pay creditors and staff. He said it was victim to the change in attitude toward the e-tail sector.
