Italian telco wins £1.5m bank loan

NEWS Franco-Italian telco Wind has secured a E2.4m (£1.48m) loan from a consortium of banks to help build its European infrastructure. The nine-and-a-half-year loan has been syndicated by ABN AMRO, Banca Commerciale Italia, Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) Paribus, Citibank, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and JP Morgan. It also includes a E570m (£352m) line of credit. Wind said the demand for subscriptions had been oversubscribed by 200 per cent. Wind is 56.3 per cent owned by Italian electricity group Entel and 43.37 percent by France Telecom.
