Nokia buys DSL provider for $220m

NEWS The Finnish mobile giant Nokia has acquired an US-based DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) provider Discoverycom. The all-stock-deal is worth $220m. The company said the purchase will strengthen the Finn's position in the broadband market. DSL technology allows fast internet access using normal phone lines. It allows line-sharing which allows surfers to make and receive phone calls whilst online.
