NEWS The Norwegian government has postponed the sale of telecommunications group Telenor until October. The original plan saw the state-owned telecommunications giant to be sold in September as part of government plans to reduce ownership in a sale of 15 to 25 per cent of the telco in shares. The government claimed it is buying time by waiting until October for the corporation's third quarter sales results. The Finns, meanwhile, are also hoping to pair off Sonera, the leading telecommunications group with a European partner, and continental suitors such as France Telecom, KPN and Telefonica have all flirted with a partnership.
