NEWS Napster has broken into the 50 most popular internet sites, according to the latest figures from Media Metrix. Despite being in the middle of a potentially terminal lawsuit for allegedly violating copyright regulations, Napster has hit 47th position in the list. Napster recorded 5.4 million independent users in July, putting the file-swapping site above Sony Online and Barnes and Noble. However it still has a way to go to catch AOL, who recorded the most hits with over 80 million users logging on.
