KPNQwest wins £61m Fibernet contract

NEWS Pan-European data communications company KPNQwest has won a contract from Fibernet worth more than E100m (£61m). Fibernet plans to establish an internal national network for Germany, at a cost of E50m (£30.5m). It then plans to cover France, Switzerland and Italy at a further cost of E50m. The company intends to build seven fibre optic network rings, stretching 20,000km and connecting 50 cities in 14 European countries.
