Nasdaq index down for second consecutive quarter

Nasdaq has ended the third quarter with a whimper, its composite index losing nearly three per cent of its value as it sank 103.92 to 3568.90 at close yesterday.

NEWS Analysts are blaming a profit warning from Apple, but it seems likely an earlier warning from chip giant Intel contributed largely to the poor results as the fourth quarter kicked off. Nasdaq has now lost value for two consecutive quarters, leaving investors increasingly sceptical about the tech market.
