BBC wins rights to news site

The BBC has won a major domain name case today, gaining control of bbcnews.com for the first time.

NEWS The address currently takes you to a lottery and gambling site, but the World Intellectual Property Organisation has ruled that Data Art Corporation of North Hollywood, California and Stoneybrook of Belize registered the name in bad faith. The BBC has registered its trademark in over 50 countries around the world. The broadcaster currently uses bbc.co.uk/news and news.bbc.co.uk for its online news service.
