Sybase recovery continues with positive Q3 revenues

Database vendor Sybase reported an 11 per cent increase in revenue today in third quarter results that beat analyst expectations.

NEWS Boosted by last year's expansion into financial services, wireless and mobile, and enterprise portals, revenue jumped to $239.1m, compared with $216.1m for the third quarter of 1999. Earnings per share reached 30 cents, a 5 cent jump on analyst predictions. Overall net income rose 40 per cent on last year, to $26.7m. With acquisition and restructuring charges, accounted-for net income was $16.5m, compared to $16.1m a year ago.
