NEWS The privately owned SiByte makes chips for networking and communications applications that require only 2.5 watts of energy. Henry Nicholas, president and CEO of Broadcom, said in a statement: "With the addition of SiByte technology, we will be armed with the world's fastest and lowest power MIPS industry-standard broadband processor technology." Broadcom will issue up to 9.3 million ordinary shares for the US start-up, which values the deal at approximately $2.07bn.
