NEWS According to an article in La Tribune, 9Telecom is negotiating with PPR's ISP and portal Mageos about a possible internet deal in which PPR will use 9Telecom's infrastructure.
However, a spokeswoman for PPR said the company is in discussions with three operators and it is premature to say that it has chosen 9Telecom.
9Telecom also claimed to be in discussions with three or four telcos and said nothing has been decided.
Currently, 70 per cent of 9Telecom's activities are in the telco market, but it intends future business to be an equal distribution of telecoms and internet services.
The company joined forces with Canadian firm Netgraph in August to create an internet content community, and only a few weeks ago launched an internet access deal, in conjunction with Jet Multimedia, for the services it offers on Minitel and the web.
