KPMG lands multi-million dollar DSL contract

KPMG Consulting Service Provider Solutions has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to provide Dutch start-up bbned with a DSL infrastructure and services.

NEWS The Dutch broadband service provider, wholly owned by Telecom Italia, is spending E200m (£119m) over the next 12 months on its DSL roll out. The networking arm of KPMG Consulting will supply an end-to-end operations support system and business support systems infrastructure, which will assist in the provision of broadband services. Meanwhile, in the US, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has scaled down the reformation of the accountancy industry. The SEC said there will be no ban on technology consulting work carried out at audit clients.
Concerns were raised over the independence of audits from companies carrying out consultancy work.
