NEWS The acquisition follows this month's release of 3Com's largest set of commercial networking products. A spokesman for 3Com said the product release was the first phase of a product strategy that would allow 3Com to claim back its former glory. He said: "This will springboard us back into a dominant position." The Gigabit Ethernet market is growing by more than 300 per cent each year, according to market research outfit Cahners-Instat Group which estimates that 50 million network connections will be shipped by 2005.
