NEWS The FTSE 100 opened 0.5 per cent up this morning, led by an increase in Marconi shares. The telecoms company yesterday announced its intention to sell its 24 per cent stake in turbine manufacturer Alstom. The techmark rose almost one per cent upon opening, with the Frankfurt Dax also rising this morning on the back of SAP's fourth quarter profit announcement yesterday.
