Exclusive: Durlacher dumps quarterly investment report

The Q4 2000 edition of the Durlacher Quarterly Investment Report will be the last.

NEWS The Durlacher report, by European internet analyst Sarah Skinner, was once one of the most highly-respected indicators of the health of the new economy in the UK, and its demise is another sign that the happy days of the dot-com boom are well and truly over. Internet consultancy and investment house Durlacher has been producing the report every quarter since April 1997. A Durlacher spokeswoman indicated that the maturing UK market made it harder to produce a report that didn't deal with areas covered by rival research houses. The group hopes to produce a similar publication dealing with the German and/or Spanish markets. Durlacher has itself been a high-profile casualty of the dot-com meltdown, seeing its share price fall from 450p to around 20p since March 2000.
