Online Classics blames BT for launch of satellite channel

Online Classics, which broadcasts music and performing arts over the internet, said it has been forced to launch a satellite channel because of the continued delays to establishing broadband networks in the UK.

NEWS Chief Executive Chris Hunt said the new channel is an interim measure until broadband allowed the company to deliver television to a mass audience through the internet. He said that had BT delivered these services when promised "we would not be involving ourselves in a satellite channel." The new satellite channel will be available by subscription to British Sky Broadcasting's network.
