NEWS Abraham Abdullah, whose day-job featured dishwashing and food preparation, allegedly had a secret life as one of the greatest fraudsters ever to surf the internet. According to the London Evening Standard, Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, George Lucas and Disney CEO Michael Eisner were among his victims. He is also believed to have targeted Microsoft founder Paul Allen. Detectives have said his technique involved setting up a complex series of post-boxes, mobile phone numbers and voicemail services, using an army of prostitutes and taxi drivers as accomplices. He used email, phone and faxes to impersonate his victims, who he selected from Forbes Magazine's lists of the richest people in America. He was eventually caught trying to siphon $6m cash out of a bank account in the name of CRM guru Thomas Siebel. The alarm was only raised as Siebel didn't have enough money in his account.
Dot-com millionaire found in restaurant kitchen
Former internet employees have been swelling the ranks of the US catering industry, according to reports this week. But it's not just one-way traffic, as a New York kitchen hand has been exposed as a secret internet fraud tycoon.
