Easy come, easy go - PSINet out of favour with Stelios

easyEverything has admitted it is in talks with several other ISPs, as its current carrier PSINet stumbles between financial crises.

NEWS A spokesman for easyEverything confirmed that PSINet will no longer be the company's prime service provider as it continues to expand its internet café business. "We are already in talks with other ISPs. We intend to roll out easyEverything as hundreds of franchises throughout the world and obviously PSINet would not be able to cover us in many of them." easyEverything is claiming 2.2 million visitors, or log-ins, per month at its 21 internet cafes in Europe and New York. The company's spokesman remained nonplussed by PSINet's recent financial crises. "It's not as if the lights will go out. The service will continue. A lot of telcos are having problems at the moment and PSINet's assets and customer base would make it attractive for a takeover if anything further happened," he said. Late yesterday, PSINet, the self-proclaimed 'Internet Super Carrier', warned investors that its stock is almost worthless, and its bonds heavily discounted, despite its efforts to restructure and sell-off of subsidiaries. The company has appointed a new president and COO, Harry Hobbs, previously president of international operations.
