Quantum leaps into broadband for added bandwidth

Quantum Bridge Communications is offering businesses greater broadband capacity with technology which offers multiple links down one fibre cable.

NEWS Quantum, a developer of optical access network solutions, said its QB3000 Optical Access Switch enables service providers to extend broadband services via a passive optical network by sending multiple links down fibre which previously had the capacity for only one. Guy Powell, VP of EMEA at Quantum, said: "There is a clear need for more bandwidth for SMEs and this allows existing and new technologies to combine to create a flexible platform with greater capacity." Powell believes this technology will work where DSL failed by reducing bandwidth bottlenecks.
