Netimperative sends out an SOS

Troubled online news service netimperative.com is calling on its members to start paying for its services.

NEWS The site needs to convert a percentage of its users to paying subscribers within the next two weeks in order to survive. It is calling for readers to pledge £50 for six months membership. However, no money will actually be taken unless enough people sign up for the service. Felicia Jackson, chief executive at netimperative.com, said: "We need to convert about ten per cent of our 8,000 active members. Daily news will remain free but members will get access to the full archive of stories and lunchtime events that we hold and the weekly 'datasheet'."
