Reports in Silicon Valley newspaper the San Jose Mercury predict the announcement will be made to coincide with the release of its fourth quarter results on Wednesday afternoon. The news comes only a day after Ericsson announced it will cut 6,000 jobs. Cisco is to axe 8,500 people and Oracle will lose two per cent of its workforce.
