Stockwatch Daily: Europe slumps on the back of Cisco results

A poor third quarter performance from Cisco saw European technology stocks plummet at the start of trading today.

NEWS Mobile equipment maker Marconi was down 1.3 per cent to 381.5p an hour after trading opened. French rival Alcatel was down 1.72 per cent. Mobile software maker Logica dropped 2.74 per cent to 885p, with chip maker Arm Holdings falling 5.67 per cent to 364.75p. Colt and Cable & Wireless dropped 3.47 per cent and 7.98 per cent respectively. On the Nasdaq, Cisco shares dropped 4.79 per cent in after hours trading.
