European telecoms regulator is one authority too many

NEWS The president of the German regulatory authority has spoken out against the need for a European telecommunications supervisory authority. Matthias Kurth admitted to the Berlin Tagesspiegel that regulation at a national level can make for international barriers, but defended his organisation as fast, reliable and efficient, attributes he said were vital in a market which changes weekly. According to Kurth, the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Post is observing the current strategy change at Deutsche Telekom very carefully.
