Markets off to a slow start

This is why we don't like Mondays...

NEWS A long weekend on both sides of the pond has stunted growth across the markets this morning. The FTSE 100 Index is down marginally by 0.04 per cent to 5,887.40, while the FTSE TechMark is off 0.19 per cent. Vodafone results out today, show that the mobile operator has hit forecasts with an 87 per cent increase in pre-tax profits. Despite this, it slid 1.9 per cent during early trading this morning. BT is also on a downer. Over the weekend it sold Yell and this morning was off by two per cent.
