More BT action by Oftel

"What is your problem Oftel? Why are you giving us such a hard time this week? ...oh, you're a regulator... so what have you been doing for the past decade then?"

NEWS Oftel is looking to increase competition between telecoms operators by reconsidering the notice period BT must give before changing the prices of it residential and business services. Director general, David Edmonds said the 28 days notice BT must give before changing prices makes it easier for other companies to alter their prices accordingly. This, he said, might mean prices are kept artificially high. By removing the notice period Oftel hopes to increase competition. Oftel is looking for feedback before it makes a decision.
