Telecom Italia chief investigated

Seat acquisition not what it first seemed...

NEWS After three months of investigations the chief executive of Telecom Italia, Roberto Colaninno, has been informed he is being officially scrutinised for a possible conflict of interest caused by a TI acquisition. According to news agencies, a Turin prosecuting magistrate yesterday served Colaninno and 10 other executives with a formal notification. He is suspected of benefiting when Seat Pagine Gialle, a directories company, was bought by Tin.it, TI's ISP. Colaninno has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. He and another board member have admitted they indirectly owned a stake in Seat, but records show they did not make financial gains from the Tin.it transaction.
