NEWS Greatergood.com, the company behind the popular charity site hungersite.com has shut down. Hungersite.com allowed individuals to donate money to social causes by clicking on banner advertisements or shopping at specified online storefronts. According to the Seattle Post, the company could not find any additional funding despite having registered around 600,000 visitors per day, since its launch in 1999. Messages on both sites read: "GreaterGood.com/hungersite.com is undergoing routine maintenance. We are very sorry for the inconvenience Thank you!" GreaterGood.com operated other charity sites, such as the Rain Forest Site and was backed by US investors Madrona, Arch Venture Partners and OVP Venture Partners.
